Herrington Gets First Win of 2010 With Dominating Performance at the BOS

Bobby Herrington entered Labor Day weekend with a pair of important events on his schedule.  First up was the final night of points at Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday night.  Herrington has had a great season at Brockville finishing in the top five consistently through the year, and was looking to put his 2010 in victory lane for the first time this season.  On Sunday it was a 100 lap Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified series race at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

At Brockville, Herrington began the night with a second place finish in his qualifying heat.  He had started third, but dropped to fourth early before coming back to take second on the final lap.  In the 30 lap feature, Herrington started from eighth place, and quickly displayed to everyone that he had the fastest car on this night.  By the end of lap two, Herrington had climbed to fifth.  At the end of the 3rd lap he had moved into third.  Just two laps later he had the lead, and never looked back.  Herrington picked up his first win of the season, and first at Brockville since a late season win back in 2007.

"We had a great car tonight.  We have actually had cars this good most of the season but haven't had much luck.  We had it all together tonight.  I just want to thank Dad, the crew and all of our sponsors for their support", says Herrington.

On Sunday at Cornwall, Herrington began the night with a second place run in his qualifying heat, locking himself into the redraw for one of the top 12 starting sports for the 100 lap feature.  Herrington drew position number nine for the main event, and was looking to finish in the top ten.  Unfortunately, after getting hooked together with another car, Herrington suffered some damage, and parked the car for the rest of the night.

This coming Saturday night, Herrington will be hoping for two in a row, as Brockville Speedway host "Topless Night".  The Modifieds will take the roof and rear windows off the car and and tackle the tricky Brockville Speedway.
